14th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance

Celebrating its 14th year the weekend of Saturday, April 7th through Sunday, April 8th the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance returned to La Jolla, California. Monterey Car Week was on hand for its second time.

Learning our lesson from last year, we arrived on the scene in La Jolla an hour before the Concours got underway, which was a masterstroke. We were able to find free parking in La Jolla Village, which was just a short stroll to the Concours. This one simple convenience made the day so much more enjoyable for my wife and me, as we were able to come and go as we pleased, without the chance of getting a parking ticket, as we mistakenly did in 2017. We also had sufficient time to enjoy a casual breakfast at a nearby Starbucks before this world class venue and event.

The 2018 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance commemorated Lincoln as the honored marque. Based upon a strong heritage of superlative design and engineering, the Lincoln division of the Ford Motor Company was and is to this day the penultimate Ford brand. We enjoyed a wonderful time photographing and learning more about the Lincoln marque from its beginning and throughout automotive history.

The 14th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, in addition to Lincoln, will also showcase some of the most exquisite automobile displays in the world. This celebratory automotive weekend will begin on Saturday, April 7th with the annual Tour d'Elegance. Saturday night will continue with the exclusive Bentley Motors VIP Reception presented by Fraser which will be held on the Concours lawn.

Saving the most extravagant for last, the weekend will conclude with the La Jolla Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, April 8th with over 130 spectacular vehicles, a champagne and honey tasting garden, a VIP Lounge, and Hospitality Suites. Staying true to tradition, we will also be featuring the La Jolla Motor Car Classic at the Concours, which will once again be free and open to the public and will expand the show from the Ellen Browning Scripps Park into the La Jolla Village roadways displaying a variety of automobiles from select car clubs. The 14th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance proceeds will go towards La Jolla Historical Society, which preserves the history of the gem known as La Jolla. In addition to the La Jolla Historical Society, The La Jolla Concours d'Elegance benefits several additional local community nonprofit partners each year.
